On a winter day Friday night, after a hot pot dinner with a friend, I took my car to the carwash and filled the gasoline in preparation of attending a play by Maple SV Drama "The Chair at Columbia University“ at Cupertino on the Sunday night. After the carwash, I decided to get some handmade ice cream to share with my elderly mother, the night turned out to be a surreal time for me to explore the quiet and magical night view of the Cole Valley street decorated with warm incandescent mini lights flickering like stars from the nightly sky by the eateries.

The clerk of the Ice Cream Bar carefully fixed the ice cream cones in a bag and covered the ice creams with another paper bowl before handing them over to me.

After enjoying the cherry praline and banana pudding ice cream in the cone with my mother, the night was completed with a soothing herbal foot spa at home.

It was a simple and pleasant Friday night enjoyed with families and friends in my life. That night, there was peace and gratitude in my smile when I looked into the mirror.
